Trailhead Lodge Gondola coming to Steamboat Springs

Wildhorse Principal & CFO of Resort Ventures West (RVW), Brent Pearson is the developer of the Trailhead Lodge. He has been working diligently with the Steamboat Ski Corp. to partner on an 8 person gondola that will take skiers and riders from the Trailhead Lodge (next to the Meadows parking lot) up to an area adjacent to the new One Steamboat Place at the base of the ski mountain. The uphill capacity on the new gondola could be 1,800 passengers an hour, and may be upgraded to 2,400 passengers an hour when more cabins are deemed necessary. The ride will take three minutes from beginning to end. Although probably free to riders the cost of the gondola will be $7 million dollars to the entity that undertakes its completion. Keep watching for more updates as RVW, Ski Corps., and City Planning work together to improve the ski/ride experience of our Steamboat Springs’ locals and guests. We have earned the right to be a world class ski area and it’s excellent that RVW and Intrawest are moving forward with partnering to make us the best Western Ski Town in the world!
