The Yampa Valley Housing Authority (YVHA) is in full support of Danny Mulcahy and the Steamboat 700 project. The project is the first of its kind that will fully support and dedicate properties to affordable housing in various ways to keep speculation buying down and homes in the hands of our workforce. The West of Steamboat Springs Area Plan (WSSAP) supports affordable housing growth on the West side of Steamboat. With the Steamboat Springs City Council backing down on the affordable housing requirements due partly to a slow Real Estate Market the YVHA is in full support mode for Steamboat 700. YVHA would like to be involved with the affordable housing meetings to play a part in guiding the affordable housing direction at Steamboat 700. The YVHA is excited about the long term benefits a proposed Real Estate Transfer Fee that could provide much needed funding for their cause.
